Freelander 1 [SOLVED] Electrical problems, possible CCU failure

I am terribly sorry for bringing an old thread back, but I solved my issue. Since I got another car, I put this one "on the shelf" and waited for a bit warmer days to work on it. In the meantime managed to ask some guy if he would be okay if I tried his CCU in my car, since the cars are the same...

Freelander 1 [SOLVED] Electrical problems, possible CCU failure

Update: Dug my way till the CCU, got it out and opened it. It looked decent, quite pristine. Cleaned it with rubbing alcohol and a toothbrush, hooked all back up and now it works. It's been 4 days without issues. So I'm quite certain it is the CCU and I know that if it comes back again, I'll...

Hello to all, wish you a happy new year and amazing holidays! I had an MOT recently, passed it somehow, friend there warned me about my rear window wiper was acting strange. Starting when you sound the horn and stuff like that. The vehicle is Freelander 1 2001, 2.0 TD4 112hp Automatic. Soon...

Freelander 1 Freelander 1 Major Electrical Problems : Urgent help needed Please

Sorry for resurrecting, but I got identical problems. The topic just stopped getting replies, what happened OP? Did you solve the issues? Was it the CCU? Can the CCU just be replaced with some other scrapped working one (or new), and does the car need some extra programming? I assume the fob...

    Questions about MOT handbrake test

Yea the rollers go opposite of each other. We talked today and he said that they have options for it, and they tried both things. If he rolls it in the same direction, he said one gets stuck and the rollers computer gives up, probably not to damage anything.

    Questions about MOT handbrake test

Oh no, I meant they work in the inspection center. The mechanics are something else, the inspection guys just take your car, and then tell you if you can register the car or not. But its dumb, the country changed the laws this year, and people were failing because they didn't have the plastic...

    Questions about MOT handbrake test

Thank you for that answer. I also wanted to ask the difference between FL 1 and 2 in this matter, so thank you for that, as well. Well I guess inexperience and lack of education is what brings us here. All of the people working there are under 30 and all have only courses that last one year...

    Questions about MOT handbrake test

Alright. I passed. An old colleague works there now, he called me and said, I quote: "You passed. Don't ask how." All that aside, what he said afterwards intrigued me. He explained how they test the brakes, they roll the rollers till they get on the display 200Nm(don't understand exactly what...

Can someone post a picture of the automatic adjuster? I want to be certain for sure I got the right information from the web.

    Questions about MOT handbrake test

Well, they burst my brake lines. I mean, they claim they were bad, corroded, so when they rolled on the rollers, and tried to brake, the line bursted. I told them what I read here, they assured me it's okay. I assume the brake lines are bad cause they were never changed probably, so voila. That...

    Questions about MOT handbrake test

I got new drums and shoes installed ~half a month ago, and I assume the mechanic did clean and lubricate everything that needed it. That's why I don't understand why the handbrake isn't working properly, and also why I said I suspect it just needs adjustment. In the end, whatever it is, it'll...

    Questions about MOT handbrake test

Well then, I'll inform them about that and see their reply. In all honestly I think there's no need for me to worry, but still, better safe than sorry. I'll check my handbrake, as well. It probably needs to get tightened. Thanks a lot!

    Questions about MOT handbrake test

Hello, hope you're all well. I'm from Serbia and we got a technical inspection of cars every year, I think it's the MOT equivalent, but could be wrong, doesn't really matter. I have a Freelander 1, 2001, automatic. The questions I have, one of the tests is the handbrake test on the rollers. Car...

Freelander 1 Automatic rear window parts

Greetings! Car: Land Rover Freelander 2001 My country decided to make a new rule so that all cars must have working power windows, which means you'll fail your yearly technical inspection if your car is in perfect working order but one of your rear power windows ain't feeling well that...

    [SOLVED] Tail lights

Alright. Turned out the light bulbs were at fault. The thing is that they were all at such specific faults that it looked like they were working. The top one blew out completely. Lower right one - the contact for the stronger filament was not good so I cleaned it and that one works great (lights...
