Ok, just rebuilt my Weber carb on my 2.25 petrol series 3. Had a slight burble and blip like it was looking for fuel before. Rebuilt the carb and it is now running a lot smoother......however, what a lot of black smoke it is now spewing out! Any hints on trying to alleviate this?

Cheers, problem is I tried to fit a new nut which would g so I tried tapping it, and well, I think my ham fistedness has probably now wrecked the internal threads!

I have a 1978 SWB series 3 which I am needing multiple parts for the braking system. One part which I cannot find is the T- piece that sits on the chassis at the front offside where the wiring loom comes out of the chassis. This t-piece has an inlet coming from the reservoir, then three outlets...

Sorry to Hijack your thread but I felt this the most appropriate to ask a question. I have had a lot of oil spew out of somewhere in the back axle/hub, coating the entire inner drum and shoes. I have got a new drum, shoes, wheel cylinder etc coming and I am also replacing the felt seals around...

ok, having changed every component linked to the ignition I finally splashed the cash and spent a disgusting amount of money (fiver) on new points and a condenser and lo and behold..........the old landy lives once more!

So, the no spark saga dragged on and on......new points and condenser, starts first turn. Happy days

New starter motor in.........................and motor turns! happy days. The rebuild is now gathering pace.

Ok, just discovered that the starter motor has a short. Worked perfectly on the bench but one it had load applied it couldn't hack it and was shorting itself out. Time to buy a new starter motor!
