Thank you for the advise, I suspected that I'd have to remove the dash top it's selve to do it to be honest.
I plan on removing the original foam as it's hard and probably easier to reform the whole thing.

I am looking to retrim the dashboard top in my series 3, it has a lot of cracking and holes, the dash bottom is in pretty good condition and doesn't need redoing.
unfortunately I am away and can't take the measurements needed to order some leather/vinyl and foam.
Could anyone with easy access...

It's got a R380 gearbox and 300TDI so only the small lever, I'll try get some time to grab some pictures, also going to get a friend of mine who knows a lot about them to have a look and see what is actually under there haha

It's permanent 4 wheel drive now.
Have checked the speed using 4 of them signs that light up with your speed as you approach them and seems right.

I don't think there is any series wiring left... Its going to be interesting to learn as I attempt to fix it. But tell then its only getting driven on good clear days.

I plan on replacing the seats and seat belts, will probably keep the doors as they are once the broken trim part is replaced.

it was more of a "PTE your doing this, but Sir I am not exactly a good swimmer, well you will learn"
that said it was amazing and I would definitely do it again especially now that i can swim alot better.
