Yes passive immobiliser can be disabled as long as you disable the immobiliser first via fob or or eka that then allows nanocom to communicate to the bcu to change settings required.

No worries I would change idm first it’s plug and play and are not expensive

lots of issues related to this fault if you look on my thread regarding this (d2 fob help I've tried everything) there maybe be some answers your looking for. I finally got to the bottom of it today.

Issue fixed I hope my reply can help anyone else in my situation or symptoms I had maybe I was a little eager to blame bcu receiver etc but I got there in the end and I know that the parts I replaced getting to the end result would have ended up failing anyway especially the idm. So good result...

Right I’ve done my best and found the fault the wiring loom that goes over the steering column had dropped and rubbed through around 7 wires causing a instant short when fuse 21 was plugged in. Whilst I was looking it nearly nearly caught fire. Pulled the damaged wires apart cut the damage out...

Hi I’ve just investigated further. I pulled fuse 21 out my old idm it was blown. I looked in my new idm fuse 21 blown. Replaced fuse, key signal detected 2 seconds later fuse blows again. Retested no key signal yet again. Now we are getting somewhere I’m guessing thanks for your help

Lucky enough my daily is a transit van my v8 does about 2000 miles a year. I could never afford to run it if I had to use it every day

I had a d1 v8 lpg with a prins multipoint and was nothing but trouble. Couldnt get lpg wouldn’t recommend it.
