A caveat regarding insurance. If you only have the one car insured in your name and you cancel the insurance on it because it's not in use, you ae likely to lose your no claim discount. It did not affect me as I had 3 vehicles at the time.
All the insurance companies say that but as far as I can see, if it's on private land it's not necessary, my MR2 was in storage for 15 years or so uninsured. Direct Assurance are cheaper than Credit Agricole.
