Fuel pump issues causing engine trouble

Hello everyone, So newish to this forum, and needed help with my beloved L322. I had a water pump leak on it, which a local mechanic tried to replace. In the process he broke the thermostat housing and damaged the fuel pump. After replacing the parts and getting the fuel pump 'fixed' the car...

Unknown electric fault after battery change

Possibly, it’s just that he had damaged the secondary fuel pump and there was a gold screw that he’ needed to replace.. for that he told me he took the whole pump out apparently. I was at work at the time so I had limited knowledge.

Unknown electric fault after battery change

So I’ve had the AA come out today and he checked all fuses no issues. Immediately machine says fuel pump with codes mentioned before p0191 and p0001. He says it’s for sure the fact diesel is not getting distributed and it’s to do with the fuel pump. I’m guessing this is going to be another big...

Unknown electric fault after battery change

Thanks bud, in the owners handbook I’ve found only two fuses which I think are applicable.. fuse 51 in the glove compartment (abs, dsc and fuel pump) and fuse 15 in the load space in the rear (fuel pump) do you think there should be anything else too??

Unknown electric fault after battery change

So what you were saying was right! Your experience speaks volumes! So had an electrician come out and he has found the fault as the rail pressure whilst using the diagnostic machine (p0191 and also p0001). He also checked if the engine was turning over (I can’t remember the exact term) and it...

Unknown electric fault after battery change

Apart from the thermostat housing and a screw in the secondary fuel pump… I suppose it is very possible. I just need it seen properly I think by some mechanic / electrician to confirm what the actual issue is

Unknown electric fault after battery change

Thanks for the reply bud. Trouble is I have no idea how to check these pressures (fully disclosure I am not the most mechanically minded person on earth, am trying to be though!). Most of what I’ve been told has been through the mechanic. The garage I was going to get it towed to don’t have any...

Unknown electric fault after battery change

Tbh after the numerous things that I’ve had to replace, this is a real possibility. But as you say until this code is cleared ain’t no way she will fire up.

Unknown electric fault after battery change

It would be great if I could find someone that has the diag for the 07 3.6 tdv8. Because I think it does need to be reset as you say. If you know of any members around the Bedfordshire area let me know please, or they may even see this post and reach out, fingers crossed. I was going to get a...

Unknown electric fault after battery change

Yes that is the problem the fuel is not getting through the system like it should… p1623 immobiliser fault code is showing in diagnostic machine (attached)… along with other fault codes

Unknown electric fault after battery change

Car was running well before mechanic started to fix the water leak I had, water pump…. Tbh the mechanic put the battery in and I was at work at the time so not sure how he done it. In regards to ‘You just do the same as injection spray fuel.’ What do you suggest I do?

Unknown electric fault after battery change

So you think it’s most likely that? And I think to get rid of it either I need some reprogramming. Clearing the fault code didn’t allow the car to start
