I don't see why you'd buy one with springs when you can buy one with air. Sure air springs need replacing, but so do metal springs. It's generally quite reliable unless you ignore leaks, dash warnings etc

All of the above, couldn't afford one if couldn't do maintenance myself, but still a strain on my wallet, as for money pit you should be fine I have them all here

I think if you pay someone else to fix your car then running an old lr will get very, very expensive. They only make sence, to me at least, If you will fix it yourself.

If it was me I'd take the pipe in question off and take it to a specialist pipe company, who would make one up for you for not much money. Using the same fittings. This thread may prove useful to you...

Oh dear, sorry to hear. If you want to try and DIY then search for @tyregeezer threads he seems to be a glutton for this sort of D3 punishment, but has done well and threads/posts are detailed so could help :). Good luck with it. J
