Living in Fenland have had many cars stuck in front lawn
Low profile tyres here feel every bump, won't be taking too off road, but is a lovely thing to drive, much different from our first LR lightweight in winter you need gauntlets, balaclava...
U saying that Does remind me some years back of idiots going well off the greenlaning routes by driving right across a farmers cornfield , best bit they got stuck and had to ask the farmer to pull them out , don’t know if they got there vehicles...
Yes mate air suspension and bigger sidewalls better for Norfolk, can Greenlane round here going to a friends house or asda Lol
Don't use that method anymore ruined paint, tea and a sit down nowadays
Sport wasn't too bad responded to a bit of...
Long may it continue mate that it behaves 🙏
also really impressed with the D3 gearbox in how smooth it changes and assume the ZF 9 x speed is even nicer
Funny enough heard that in comparison between coils and air suspension in how smooth the...
Bless u my friend and glad being able to help here and there is useful to u
Credit where credit is due for u finding the water logged modules and working through the canbus system,
It certainly threw a spanner in the works that for sure in...
Alas I was just replying to a good mate so isn’t my vehicle , after a lot of testing he resolved it due to several water logged modules which upset the canbus system which threw all sort of dtc’s
Sound advice with u saying about the filter...
For the gearbox overheating issue, start by checking the oil, filter, and cooler, and perform a flush. Inspect the fluid quality for signs of overheating or contamination and ensure the fluid level is correct. If the problem continues, a...
Yes thanks for heads up on flushing guys, just dropped it twice was much cleaner second time, pretty sure if overheat re-emerges a cloned tcm is next port of call,
Gear changes are almost undetectable only by watching rev counter, still has a...
Sorry mate moved my ramblings to my D4 engine removal thread, yes thanks doing ok fingers crossed seems brake switch and haldex unit were causing main issues, also changed a headlight module, rain sensor and rear camera all corroded inside...
Spline set turned up today, removed timing cover doesn't appear to be leaking at the crank seal no oil inside only a little weeping in at the bottom
Belt is nearly new obviously had a kit recently looks pristine, oil pump is also newish it is...
Nice one mate and hopefully things are coming along nicely
Jesus I wouldn’t know where to start with all of that ,lol imagine it’s a lot nicer being able to work on the engine whilst on a stand instead of the confines of an engine bay
At...
As a side note never forget when I was looking for leaks on my ac system
Used the paddling pool that my dog useto use in the summer time , filled it up with water , then made up some test systems in order I could find the leaks
Hopefully it...
Hi mate yes I try to keep various systems separate as is many bits, many bags, tubs, labels and also use a white permanent marker
Vacuum system I'm using a pump to test individual lines, engine mounts don't hold vacuum but most others did now...
Picked up working on sdv6 motor today, took time to photo and note vacume system before removing it in basically one piece has an issue or two
Also removed pipe work and pulleys from the front of the motor to remove the timing cover, but don't...
OK, I'll have a word with my French neighbour who has a great many LR products including like yours and who too is facing a rebuild of his SDV6, we are minutes from the Aude / Hérault border, just south of Mazamet. We know the area where you're...
Hi
Plus 1 what’s already been mentioned as indeed doesn’t sound right
Wonder if it would be worth to remove the engine oil filter , cut it open lay out flat to see if there’s any silver material inside as that also a good indicator if things...
D3 run up and out of workshop cleaned up nice, just turbo heat shields and recheck transmission fluid level to do tomorrow
Moved D4 motor back in workable position as you can see has a massive oil leak at front crank seal, vacuum issues, crack...
Thanks - sound advice! I’ll trailer it to the garage. Unfortunately I’m in France and JLR main dealer is my only option (locals drive Japanese kit). Just to prepare myself, if it’s a big end tap, or a crank, what kind of money would you expect to...
JLR will probably only replace engine for you these engines can be saved but is cost and finding someone to rebuild presuming it's not beyond saving best of luck
These are easy to use, I do these for my clients cars with aircon.
Engine running,
Fan speed 1/2-3/4 speed,
Temp set to middle,
Set the heater to recycle with the aircon on. It comes on automatically with the recycle button on the 38'.
Close...
An svr u say , I wonder what would to quicker that or my driving licence for speeding , lol
Drooling with the thought of opening one up through a tunnel , yeh I know I need to get out more 🤣
As a side note would be interesting to see as to what...
Ur so very welcome mate in being able to help here and there where I can
Massive respect as you’ve made a huge amount of progress
Wonder if the adblue injector is blocking up and the redex has helped clear it out as heard they block up
Wonder...
You never know been some cheap projects out there mate was a damaged svr on evilbay but went within a few hours
Did all bits as last post on D3, initially wouldn't start, let a little more air out of shrader valve and off it went, sounds fine no...
