TD4 Pulley, minor play, advice needed

Thanks gents, waterpump it is then. Will have a look. I suspect the belt is in need of replacement and have both on the to do list. I'll see if i can get new belts on it and hope it sorts the problem. With hindsight i probably should've sprayed the belt first with some belt-ease to rule that...

TD4 Pulley, minor play, advice needed

Hello all, Could someone with knowledge on these engines give me a bit of advice on the situation we have at the minute. The pulley circled in the picture started a little whistle last night at engine speeds above 1500rpm. I sprayed the pulley with some penetrating oil and the sound died...

Drone and strange wear on LF tyre

Yup, you've learnt what I learnt recently - nearside front tyre wears quicker on the outside edge than inside. I swapped it with the drivers side and am monitoring the wear. It's not getting worse. As others have said, new tyres on the back all the time, and move old used tyres to front to save...

    MPG-My TD4 Results.

I test ours irregularly. Lowest we've seen is 32 and thee highest we've had is 43. To all those saying run low revs - does the td4 not have a variable vane turbo? If so, do you not need to engage the turbo from time to time to ensure the vanes don't sieze or stick?

    TD4 auto owners!! Read me!

I would suggest, given the reputation of the freelander, that you stick with your L series if you don't have much spare dosh. Better the devil you know and all that...

Petrol leak after repair freelander 1 td4

There's a drain plug in front of the fuel tank (about 10mm diam) which you can see under the vehicle just ahead of the offside rear wheel arch. Could maybe not be tight? You should remove that plug annually to drain away water which can pool there. Part of the service schedule I think?

    injectors

Just saying, I had a bad experience with a reconditioning firm based in Manchester which also sells towbars... Bought 4, ended up fitting 6 in total as two failed within minutes of being installed by the Land Rover specialist.

HELP!!! Td4 won't start properly doing my head in!

Is this only when cold? If so, Try turning ignition on for 5 seconds, then off, then repeat 4 or 5 times. Then start the car. If she takes then i reckon you've got injector troubles and nee d to do a leak back/leak off test.

Clicking noise when driving at low revs?

I need some sound advice . Speakers and sub needed .

Oiw - you might not. Afyernarket dad units are geared for base. Run it and see. If you decide you need an amp in there to drive more base than you can retrofit later. P.s. Agree with OP on the above. Try it once to see. Confused me the first time i did it!
