I would not tick the box - it's the car they don't like unless you've had lots of claims ?
Always best to use comparison sites first. Then call existing provider to see if they can beat best few quotes. If not pick one that does provide a...
Hi just wanted to share my experience. When you Admiral renewal went from £400 to £800 per year I went straight back to basics and filled in the “meerkats” comparison site. That way you’re going to get whatever is out there. The result for me was...
It's a worm gear so you can't move it by hand. It has current sensing so it turns off if it draws too much. If you're quick you can turn the ignition off and on then leg it to the back and help it along before the motor stops again.
Today I've been finishing off this mess.
It all started yesterday, with a 23mm socket hammered on to each nut, that's not the way to go. Better off taking one of those screwdrivers you can hit with a mallet, punch a hole in the middle and start...
Made a mount for my nano so I can check what's not working this week :vb-lol:
Bit of ss strip and a bit of alloy found in my scrap draw. Bench vice and a hammer to make the bends and a couple of pop rivets, bit of sticky back foam for protection...
Many thanks to all that replied ,
Taken sometime but got there eventually .
Turns out the front two ride height to harness connectors weren't great . the one no longer clicked in fully ,faulty readings and the other had really bad electrical...
Have you done any parasitic drain checks? if you have, and haven't found at least which fuse box the drain is on, then you're doing something wrong. As above, from your description it'd be an idea to check the heater blower regulator 'hedgehog'...
Doing oily bits is very rewarding and often necessary but every once in a while it’s great to add something that the original designer would have done especially where it takes some years off the appearance of an awesome ride. Again, we’ll done...
Continuing with the colour coding I got hold of a rear lower tailgate trim panel. It came in silver/grey I debadged it rubbed it down coat of primer, coat of base, couple of coats of clear bit of a hand sand with 2000 grit then a polish
Timing chains are fine on the 4.2 it’s the bmw v8 and earlier jag 5.0 that had issues. Long as it’s had oil changes it’s fine. Gearbox is the zf6 speed so yeah service it.
Little bit of feedback and thanks yet again again.🙏
From start job took under 5 mins. Went to drawer, got a philips screwdriver, walked over to car, opened top of tailgate, unscrewed unit, twisted bulb holder out, put bulb holder into new unit...
Hi Tricky.
We let the car shut down and the battery was all fine. But I noticed the orange light was still flashing on the head unit way after everything should have gone to sleep. (And it wasn’t a period of time when the timed climate was...
You don’t need to remove that top strip to get the lamp off, simply unscrew the screw on the top and lift the lamp out. The electrical cable can be pulled through and you Rotate the bulb holder to remove. Refitting is the reverse ;).
Tricky
I recently had a huge battery drain and it turned out to be the auxiliary heater. I turned off the timed climate and it’s been fine since (*touch wood*). Expensive to replace, those oil burning heaters. And mine’s never worked brilliantly anyway.
So today the old girl goes in for the final part of her spring make over, an additional pair of wild peak off road tyres. We had them on the back with michelin A/T's on the front, but are now adding a pair of new off peaks for the front. Will put...
