new front axle purchased. gonna change the seals on swivel joints and regrease.also gonna give it a jolly good clean and paint before it goes on. never a dull moment.

have developed a nice crack in the front axle after doing some off roading. anybody know weather it can be welded (is it cast or maleable iron?). I can get a replacement easily enough but getting it welded would be obviously quicker.
