I have a friend who works with landrover teaching the technicians about new faults, he says the new engine is a 3litre bmw engine, same gear box as the last one and near 300bhp apparently :)

It does abit, hmm i dont think im going to get a straight answer :/ so theres not much difference between mpg in the 200tdi,300tdi and td5 models?

Sorry guys , i can see im going to get abit of a rinsing for being a newbie :P I soon hope to buy myself a defender 90, but im not sure on fuel consumption etc, and this is pretty key considering fuel prices rising rapidly :( For the section, i couldnt find a more suitable section, sorry...

Because i had to choose one engine type section so... i couldn't choose 200,300 and TD5 so i just went with 200tdi... move it if its inappropriate

Hello, Im new here and very interested in buying a landrover 90 hardtop :) Whats going to be the best diesel engine for mpg and reasonable power? What sort of figures would i be looking at mpg and bhp wise? Thanks Tom
