last year was pretty misreable as i had an intermittent electrical fault, meaning i had to swap batteries over in the dark some mornings then drive to work in the thing. should be better this year- battery in the cab, 200tdi and fully re-wired. but then i did put a soft top on ...........

i've got an '82 series 3 which has never been pulled up on not having hazard lights but i did have to fit a foglight last year.

i though it was the Rpi engineering 5.2 v8 in the top gear bowler? i know they called it a hybrid but i was told that was just as its a higher compression than most of the landrover v8s?

i got mine for less than thirty quid from paddocks. i'm normally a big fan of salvage bits but i figured for that price you can't go wrong.

just a quick question- i'm think i'm going to (finally) get round to swapping the diffs over to RRC units in my series3. is anybody running a defender (or 90/110) speedometer with a series gearbox and RR diffs? i compared a 200tdi disco speedo with a series example and it looked like you...

just taken 2.25 D out of the landy so if anybody wants it PM me. don't want anything for it. too good to go to the scrappers. its a 1982 5- bearing (terracotta block) with 55k on it. flew through emmisions tests on the MOT last month and was doing 20-25 mpg even with my lead right foot...

is it a older transit engine in yours at the moment? presumably then engine mounts have been moved/ altered? can anybody correct me on that? other people have had good results with newer transit engines-you might already have the right conversion plate in there. i'm just finnishing a 200tdi...

i think series diffs are 4.7:1? toby
