its still really expensive though, just as expensive as taking out my own policy in fact.

:( im really new to the whole idea of tweeking/fixing cars, where do i start?? its not like i have access to a scrapyard full of cars i can strip down, thinking of starting from the bottom with a defender 90 haynes manuel....
-
i would probably fit one if it made much difference, i would fit one in a few years
and im 17 so insurance for me is like 3-4 grand lol
-
thanks for the info, i think im just going to go as a named driver on my dads astra with directline, then after 2 years. ill take out my own policy on a tdi 90 which would be about 800-900. damn.. have to wait 2 n abit years for a landy.
-
well, directlines named driver ncd is only guranteed if you take out a policy with them later (same with cis). But like you said, you have to be 19 to start your first year of no claims with cis which is really stingy imo
-
sorry mate, just tried, they quoted me almost 4 grand! and that was when i was just sharing the land with my dad (equal usage)
-
awesome, might try and get a quote....
what do you think it would cost me to take out my own policy with them? (they dont do online quotes)
-
i got a good quote as me being the named driver, but what about when i want a policy of my own? my premium will go up right?
i wish every insurer had named driver ncb like directline.....
-
thats very good, but im not a farmer lol
-
does anyone know an insurer that will do this because im 17, direct line wont let me be a named driver with my dad.
-
one last question. do you think my dad will be able to have 2 seperate insurance policys with 2 different companies ??
-
thanks for the help, im just gonna get my dad to drive it abit every week just to keep it all good and legal, just in case.
what landy have you got?
-
well direct line let named drivers keep there own no claims bonus but its only recognised by direct line...
-
could i get insurance by getting my dad (who has like 30 years no claims) to open a new policy for my landy and putting me down as a named driver?
does the landy have to be registered with dvla under my dads name?
