can anyone help out with a pdf link for a 2005 Td5 defender, every forum post and link I can find seems to be dead. I have found a German version but I dont fancy my chances at translating.

Quick question. Do valve caps just sit on top the valve stem and get held in place by tappets or should they be a tight push fit?

No I 1st noticed this just after an oil change before being driven. Had thought it had gone away but not the case. It’s been suggested the sump pipe may be slightly blocked or that I have too much oil if my dipstick housing has moved

I don’t think they can be connected wrong. Problem didn’t exist before as far as I’m aware. All happened after using a different grade oil, oil and air filter change and replacing turbo to air box hose

So good compression, turbo seems good no worn bearings or anything yet it seems the turbo is drawing through the breather instead of the air box when filter is installed. I did change the air filter to turbo hose as mine was a bit knackered. It wasn’t sucking flat but had seen better days. This...

It’s just that it wasn’t doing it. I changed oil and filters then pretty much found the problem a week later

The only significant change I can think of is I’m running 10w40 oil instead of 15w40

I did a compression check through the glow plug fittings readings from front to back 460, 470, 460, 480
