SERIES 3 WONT START , FULL LIST OF WHAT IVE TRIED!

So, WTF is the score with this? Does it work now?

    Who do you wave at?

Bollocks to waving. I've old series, disco 2 and new defender and only get waved at in the series and defender. Why should a model make a difference? On my bike I will nod at all, even Harley riders and mostly get a nod back.

Series 3 Should the temperature gauge usually move much when driving?

Mine is always in the same spot, at the bottom because it's broken In all seriousness they are so delayed that when they are at the top it can be too late.

3 main bearing rear crank seal

You mean fitting it back in? If so a little bit needs to be trimmed from the seal to allow it to be inserted.

    The end of the Defender

    Series 3 Winterised 109, cannot separate engine/gearbox

Can you elaborate? This has been sealed everywhere, I'm passing on 2nd hand information from the chap that's doing the work for me (and no I'm not paying him, so he's no reason to steer me the wrong way) :)

    Series 3 Winterised 109, cannot separate engine/gearbox

Hi, We've come across a bit of a snag removing an engine from an ex military winterised LR. It seems that the engine and gearbox are bonded together with some magical sealant that is resistant even to brute force and ignorance! Does anyone have any knowledge about what these units are bonded...

Disco 2 Odd Traction Control Behaviour

I too have had the 'grinding' type noise, seemingly only when the left wheel is dropped off a kerb or similar. Lots of googling seemed to indicate that if the TC itself is working, it's best left alone. (Disclaimer, this is based on lots of other opinions, I cannot offer definitive fact, however...

    Hertfordshire Lanes?????

Oh, and Bettsy64, members of Herts GLASS are very active around the lanes and plan regular trips, including bank holiday weekend to exotic places such as Yorkshire and Wiltshire, worth joining.

    Hertfordshire Lanes?????

Be there tomorrow. It's looking like a good show. I seem to have got the bug since buying one of these Land Rover thingies last November, already bought a Series 2A for personal use and 3 others for restoration :) p.m. me if you're up there tomorrow, can shake hands and grab a cuppa.

Disco 2 What to look for when buying a Disco 2?

And don't forget to check the chassis :) Also, the sills at the bottom of the body, they can rust

Disco 2 What to look for when buying a Disco 2?

Under a plastic housing at the front right of the vehicle (or left if you're looking at it from the front). ECU is a large metal housing, you'll see the connector sticking out.
