    Update!!! PROBLEM SOLVED""""Checked battery all ok.power going to starter,But starter stuck gave it a little tap and hey presto!!! engine turned straight over.Flashing M&S lights all extinguished.Thanks for all replies.Ant

    If it was the xy switch, would it more likely go into limp mode as opposed to not starting at all????

    No nothing, just a click as if battery was flat or if you mistakenly turn over if still in drive.key still activates doors , immobilizer etc

    Hi to all. Been awhile since i posted. Yesterday parked up my td5 auto(99) as normal and no problems.Returned to vehicle 5mins later and vehicle wouldnt turn over and the M&S warning lights were flashing.Took selector out of park to roll vehicle as blocking a driveway no problem selecting...

    Noisy Td5 1999 auto

    Hi New to this, Recently aquired 1999 Td5 gs auto(my 1st landrover and 4x4).Problem being its very noisy in low gear and slow traffic when accelerating(when engine idle and reved seems to be missing/sluggish as if dirt/blockage possibly) , although the disco pulls and accelerates beautifully...
