I’d say N/S preload, followed by steering shaft UJs. Maybe both.

A dead or nearly dead shock/damper can result in that sort of rattle upon hitting a pot hole but pre load first.

Both pins are in great condition. Ive seen worn pins before, including someone's I repaired that had no pin left whatsoever and he wondered why the steering felt off 😬. I'll do the left side tonight and see how it goes tomorrow

Steering damper wont cause that but I'll check the drop arm. And yeah the panhard rod bushes and bolts are all new.

I've found so many conflicting things about this that I thought id just ask here. I've had a proper rattle through my steering when I go over any large bumps or potholes which I put down to swivel pin preload. Id lived with it for a while before...

Yes that is the issue, the fluid stays inside so nothing to see. Have a look in the reservoir with a good light, black stuff at the bottom will be tiny bits of the seals.

Wouldnt issues with the seals inside the master show as fluid loss though? Or not because it's still staying within it. I'll check the vacuum again today

Any way I can test it? With the vacuum hose off the servo I'm still getting a good vacuum (as far as I can tell)

Brake vacuum pump is my thoughts.

I replaced the servo on my motor before the rebuild and the brakes were brilliant, much much better than they'd ever been. During the rebuild I replaced all of the brake lines and for a bit the brakes were still great but over the last few weeks...
