not sure if they are, but it sounds like you might have lost some backpressure with all that smoke. oil must have been overfilled at some point. check that the thermostat is connected cause it should be wired in to your fan aswell and would be the reason for the warmth?! i dont know a great...

have the same problem with my 90 h reg remember its 20 years old, its not going to be quiet! all that noise is play in the halfshafts through time, nothing to be afraid of though. just keep clutch master, transmission and diff oil reg checked and or replaced and she'll be runnin sweet

haha! well ive since discovered that the oil leak is most probably the rocker cover gasket? would do good to whack a new one on. do you know if it is quite a tricky tinker? also going to tke the chance to replaice the master clutch oil and diff oil as this would hopefully quieten the ride...
