thanks for you reply when the car was on the ramp i tried to check the drive shaft by miving it there was a little bit of play but not much and the rubber seems ok and no sign or leaks. mine has just done 48k . there is no banging noise on turning or when you pick from stand still its stays...

i took all 4 wheels from my other similar 2004 td4 which was not viberation to check if thats the wheel balancing or some thing to do with wheels. so its been fitted tyres and wheels which are balanced and good thread and which were not viberating on other freelander.
