Hello, I have a defender 130 300Tdi fitted with R380 gearbox. Will the LT230 transfer box bolt straight on to this unit or do I need a particular transfer box spec for this later model Landy? Thanks Sam

Have thought about overloading but the hiab is going to be directly behind the cab so in reality the weight of the hiab approx 300kg is equivalent to the extra 3 man cab combined weight for that section. So long as the legs counter the weight and are not causing the chasis to bridge to much on...

Thanks for that, I will get a sub frame made up and will post the work as ongoing if its okay with you? that way I can get your imput regarding the compensators? etc once again thanks for the help. Sam

Hi de hi... Any help or advice for fitting a hiab to a defender 130? In particular,is it best to fasten the hiab to the new subrame and drill and bolt through the subframe or better to make plates so that the bolts pass arround the subframe? Anyone with opinions or pictures of similar work...

Thanks for the help chaps. Reading over the posts and getting back to your bit about the gears grinding etc, before the gears would'nt engage at all they were grinding... so this leads somewhere me thinks? Tried the spring as you said but the pedal does'nt drop still spongy. Still...

As ever, series 3 working fine then on 4th day of ownership I am unable to engage gear... duh! any help advice before new clutch?

I want the vehicle to be given a full once over so I know that its mechanically sound for the next few years. Its just got old and needs some care and attention the doors are shot so theres nothing to be had in trying to repair them.
