Hippo, again thanks for the info. The main dealer has changed the gear stick assembly and so far, all seems to work. I did tell them about a flat spot when pulling away from start, which they also found and said that they had to change the MAF (mass air filter)? Only had the car back 2 days so...

Hippo, THANK YOU for the info and photo. This arms me with info that I can tell the Official Land Rover Dealer that they don't know what they are talking about. The car goes in on Monday for them to change the Gear stick, well that's what they say.

Hi, does not show sport mode on dash. Yes it is a main dealer in London. They tried to download some information while in their workshops but, it failed at least 5 times to download. They also reved the ****** out of the engine about 6 times, full throttle and hold for upto 30 seconds. Sounded...

Thanks for reply. When you move the gearstick to the right, into what should be sport; nothing happens, it stays in drive and the dash also shows drive still.

Bought a TD4 auto in 2003, had one injector go after 3 years, last year had a rubber mount on rear axle replaced? wear & tear. Plus 1 set of tyres & 1 set of disc pads in the 8 years. had it serviced every year by main dealer. Just sold it with 77K on the clock. Can only say; It was a good car...
