and the td4 used a dual mass fly wheel so big bucks!!
if you do get the clutch changed make sure they change the slave/bearing at the same time.

the knock/squeak from the front could be a anti roll link, try rocking the motor whilst stood still or a manual check of the joints.
the other favourite is the c.v joint.
if the engine reved up but didnt increase the speed of the vechicle i would agree with clutch, if how ever it is moving...

look for small metal shard on the plunger as this is first signs of the pump breaking down inside, also you dont always have to replace the solinoid some time just cleaning it can work :)

which disco do u have exactly?

the park switch on the disco is part of the motor, oposed to the defender which is attached to the motor.
does your intermittent wipers work??

sound to me like the compresssor has been working over time to keep the bags up and now it burned its self out!!
if i was you i would take the air bags back and get a coil spring conversion kit, its a really easy job to do but will need to be pluged on diagnostic after, to tell ecu it now on...

think the trick is to use 2 metal rulers, they can be a bit of a pig!! there is a small capless bulb in the back.

be careful not to adjust the throttle cable as this can upset the hill desent system.
how bad is the water leak??
