    Disco 2 Hacking powerfold mirrors

My only parking option is a front street that has just enough space to drive a car down. I used the folding mirrors every single time I parked up.

    Disco 2 Hacking powerfold mirrors

I did indeed! Full writeup here: https://tall-paul.co.uk/2018/11/15/p38-part-2-folding-wing-mirrors/ note: I no longer have a P38, so if you have any questions my answers might be limited.

Build your own folding mirrors: https://tall-paul.co.uk/2018/11/15/p38-part-2-folding-wing-mirrors/ Or I *might* have a set for sale in the near future. £1700, but they come with a free P38.

Annoyingly, about the only thing that doesn't work on it is.....the near side mirror doesn't fold / adjust :|

Yeah the UJ sheared off at the front diff. Luckily it didn't damage anything else.

Well it's not blown a head gasket, lost a drive shaft, eaten a crankshaft sensor, dropped all its coolant, had its brakes fail, killed a water pump or spat dessicant through its EAS valve block yet.....so it's doing better than my 18 year old P38 so far.

    P38A Same S**T Different Day....

The problem I had with the stock pump was that I sprung a leak and then didn't have time to look at it for a couple of weeks, by which time running the pump all the time had burned it out. A beefier pump means that you don't have to sort out a leak immediately, you can run with it for a couple...

    P38A Same S**T Different Day....

Cost me about £150 off eBay, it's a Viair 450c. If you take one of the brackets off the original pump you can, with a bit of hacking at the EAS box and some gentle persuasion, get it to sit on the stock mounts. Or you can probably mount it on the chassis near the suspension turret. The output...

    P38A Same S**T Different Day....

My monster EAS pump worked really well, unfortunately my head gasket went and my front prop shaft broke within a week of each other so I've had enough of P38's. Sold it for what I bought it for and bought a 2007 L322 instead.

    P38 seeking love and tlc

If you go onto the regional forums, you might be able to find someone nearby with a nanocom unit who'll plug into it for you. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/categories/regional-landyzoners.85/

ODB2 plug is in the passenger footwell, up in the right hand corner. If you don't have P38 specific diagnostics it won't tell you much though, these cars predate mandatory ODB2 availability, so you need specialised equipment to connect to them.

    P38A Smaller air filter?

Nah, even if I do go with a new filter setup, I want to keep hold of the old one 'just in case'. There's a chinese knock off of the K&N typhoon box here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-Typhoon-Cold-Air-Intake-Induction-System-Kit-With-Air-Box-Filter-ibd-/132674566699 might give that a go.

    P38A Smaller air filter?

Okay, new idea: just to the left of the EAS box further down there's the chassis rail, could I mount my pump to that just inside where the suspension is fixed to it? Ignoring the possibility of wading (I'll never do that) is there much chance of it getting soaked by splash from the road or...
