This is, for me, at any rate, the peculiar joy of a series. No matter how bad it is, no matter what the previous ten owners did, it can be fixed by me. And, if I do it right, the repair will last for longer than the life of most modern cars.
Hmmm, rad seal could be a temporary solution. It would be nice driving some miles this summer after spending hours and hours welding rust, fixing wire harness, exhaust, searching for various parts, looking for bolts in a rusty old bucket, etc...
Are there 4 holes and definitely coolant not oil?, they’re not on the 5mb but there are bigger ones on my engine on other side, think my 200di has some but sealed off with silicon poss on other side

Jack one wheel up, see how much you can turn it. With all wheels on the floor, how far can you turn the prop (handbrake released and out of gear) make sure it's secure and won't run you over
How about wear in the throttle linkages.. ours would tickover lovely when stationary, take it for a drive and it would be erratic again, all down to worn linkages.
If you can get the tank down to half, siphon and stick dip while you have sender out and then trial fit sender bending the arm to get gauge to read about right. Probably the best you will get.
