Thanks all for the advice! Some really great ideas here - steel wheels with 2nd hand worn (deflated) tyres will be ideal as I don't want to damage the garage floor with bare rims.
Such a simple solution, but just didn't cross my mind - so really appreciate the help guys - thankyou.

Hello all, long time lurker here, first time post!
I'd like to store my 2004 Defender 90 TD5 in a garage this winter whilst not in use, however the garage roof is too low to drive it in. It would fit if I was able to reduce the height by (about) 4 or 5 inches.
Its currently running on 16"...
