Land Rover rookie in need of assistance

SWB rims are 5 inches deep, while LWB rims are 5.5 inches deep. LWB rims will fit onto a SWB, infact, LWB rims were an option for 88-inch Land Rovers. The rim's depth will usually be printed somewhere on the rim. The 5.5 rims also have a larger offset if my memory serves correct.

As said already, a set of All Terrain tyres would probably do you good. Depending on your budget you could go for some remoulds or brand new tyres. Size wise, on standard Series LWB (5.5 inch depth) rims, 7.50s are the recommended maximum size you should go. Although many do go to 235/85...

Banditman is selling his V8 Series

I would have thought the 2.25 Litre Diesel would of struggled with diffs of a higher gearing, considering that the ones I have been in, have had trouble. Then again, I suppose part of that is down to the engine being worn. So you say you get high MPG? Would like to know more how you do...

Yeah... well, hopefully it'll be out the garage in a few weeks, because winter is setting in now, and my dad's Merc needs a good overhaul desperatly. Plus, I want to get my Land Rover in some snow, too. :D (I'm hoping it snows properly this winter!) I expect the chassis won't last another...

    3 or 5 bearing?

Not going off the engine number, as I don't know the engine numbers for the differant 2.25 Litre engine types, if you have an orange filler cap on the head, and no breather pipe coming up from the crank case which would be the filler, you probably have a 5-bearing engine. One way to tell is...

Banditman is selling his V8 Series

Er, are you asking if you can get a V8 in a Series without messing about with the grill position, or not? If you are, then the answer is yes. It's been done quite a good number of times now. I think part of the reason why some people put Defender front ends on, is to make it look like a...

    'ello 'ello 'ello...

Hi everybody. My name is Richard, although people usually call me Rich. I've been interested in Land Rovers back a good few years ago. Basically, I liked the Willy's Jeep considerably, for its simplistic design, while also being a very capable machine. This progressed onto finding a few...
