It could well be it, is there a rubbery lining to it with groves that match whatever it goes on to? And have you ever heard of it shearing of where it is bolted on? Cheers Station

There are no bolt holes in the one that is slipping of but it does look like that I will check back in 5..... Station

Without wanting to sound like a muppet...... Where is the damper ring? The thing coming of is a steel ring that slides over the rear end of what i think is the VCU. Cheers

Good evening folks I hope someone can help me the cover is coming of the rear section of the VCU on our 2002 freelander has some kind of holding pin come out or do I need a new VCU the VCU seems to be working fine (apart from the cover coming of when I go up a steep hill). Thanks in advance...
