I had the same problem on my military 110 non turbo.
Check/renew earths to battery and starter motor. This turned out to be the problem in my case (bad earth to starter) but only after buying a new battery and a new starter which weren't actually needed!

Changes of paint colour generally suit a vehicle when it's to suit their genuine main use; recovery;yellow, shooting;green, work van;white etc.

Shire blue or bronze green. 90/110 white roof, 88/109 cream roof and rear sides. Let your land rover be what it is; a durable simple machine. Metallic paint and leather seats are much more at home on a X5 for example

I had a '08 110 in Keswick green with white roof. Had the roof sprayed to match the rest of it and fitted larger mud tyres on black modulars, looked very good; like a mod land rover but clean and glossy.
Keswick green suits a land rover a lot better than metallic silver I think
