I had indeed registered in that forum as well. There is a Freelander section that is combined with the LR2. Most of the posts are regarding the later LR2 which appears to be a very different vehicle. When I searched that forum for oil changes, all of the search results were LR2...

Thanks for the support. I think I stated in my post that I am new to Land Rovers. And yes I did do searches. On the Yankee side of the Atlantic, there are few forum groups dedicated to the Freelander. I've mostly found dealers supporting the LR2. I had joined this forum as it seemed promising...

With this method, How do you change the filter?
Don't you still have to remove the under carriage to reach the oil filter?

I would imagine that from a mechanical perspective, it could be done.
But if your Freelander is so equipped, I think additional challenges would be encountered adapting the ABS and Descent control
