    Changed the Diaphragm , yes it was shot . So that's stopped the air entering the injector pump. Whoop whoop ... thanks everyone who helped ... It now gets to a blistering 60 with a long run up . Is that my lot or can the injector pump be tweaked to get some more Mph ? Any suggestions ?

    Could it be the pump diaphragm ? Symptoms don't seem to fit what people talk about ( pressurised fuel tank etc) I'll take a look at the diaphragm and see what shape its in, an d check the connectors etc

    Yep sealed the pipe(s) up . Boost pressure went up a little to maybe .55 Bar then engine faltered and lost power, for maybe 10 secs then picked up and repeated till eventually cut out with plenty air in injector pump. Strange that if I drive slowly 35-40 mph no air at injector pump .

    Tried removing boost pipe to diaphragm , made no difference, still faltering at 50 mph and then lots of air in the injector pump. Interestingly if I maintain 35-40 mph over the safe route no faltering and no air in injector pump . Hmmm any ideas what it might be ?

    So fitted a Turbo boost gauge. As the landy gets to 50mph the Turbo boost pressure climbs to 0.5 bar and at 50 it then drops off the about 0.25 bar not sur wife that's the result or the cause it seems to happen at same time. I've been round all the joints in both intake and return line and...

    Still not resolved, definitely air getting into injector pump. So replacing pipe work one at a time to eliminate the problem. Don't think it was a Delphi lift pump, suspect it was a cheapie. Can always put the original back in it seemed to work ok, only swapped as part of trying to find the root...

    Once power has gone at 50 ish there after power lost continues through any gear and reduces power down to 35-40mph until I stop. There is some air at the injector pump on bleeding at the screw but only a couple of bubbles. It's got a new lift pump I'll try introducing a flea plastic pipe to see...

    The boost diaphragm housing is on the injector pump? Yes ?. If I unhook the pipe from pump to turbo, will I see fuel at idle or do I need to rev or hav it under load ?

    New fuel filter so shouldn't be that. Have ordered a cheepy vacuum gauge to fit on he vacuum pipe between pump and turbo. See if it's that .

    Injection pump was a replacement supplied through this forum and checked before shipping so should be ok. I'll check boost setup on injector , is there a way I can do that while stationary ? Is there an adjustment on the injector pump for fuel boost ?

    How can you check boost pressure without special tools ?. I can try valve settings and the vacuum hoses.

    Turbo not noticeable up to 50 enemy's to be spinning and no 'play' felt on bearings , exhaust gasses drive turbo, might the exhaust dump valve be not working ? How do you test it ?

    2.5 TD (19j engine) full rebuilt and running fine and smooth at under 50 mph, then it runs out of power and feels like it not getting enough fuel . splutters and slows down . Once stopped seems to start ok and run at Idle but begins to loos power on driving / accelerating. Retfurbed injectors...

    Hmmm still not found it, did take out the tank intake filter gauze nd pipe and it was clogged up with gunge so cleaned that but still no good very little air now in injector pump when I bleed it so I'm thinking maybe that's not the problem, what else could be causing it to go gutless at about 50...

    No other leaks of diesel or signs of air going in. I'll try the clear pipe trick see where it's coming from.
