Having similar issue, is your pedal box the one with a spring on the outside of a plastic type sliding tube type, if so how did you replace the spring assembly
Ok tried bleeding clutch conventional way with no success lost all pressure, cobbled up a syringe and pipe and tried from slave nipple never bled anything this way before and it took a lot of effort but success now have a spot on pedal, the fluid...
Thank you for your reply, had the clutch checked out by local land rover specialist he thinks replace pedal box as he cannot see issues with hydraulic systemn but looking again at pedal assembly the retracting spring seems to go over centre...
Familiar with freelander 2 having owned 2, there were no issues when I bought the car just happened yesterday after car had been unused for a couple of weeks
Recently bought my second freelander 2, 2014, 70000 mls, clutch seems good biting point ok no issue changing gears but on release of clutch it stops approx 20/30 mm from top then springs back quite hard, help would ne appreciated
