How do I service my 200tdi?

If it's a military lt77 box then the 1st and 2nd gears are lower than the normal gear boxes for towing. I get a crunch between 1st and 2nd also but I very rarely ever set off in 1st. I normally set off in 2nd other than on steep hills. As long as you don't ride the clutch, and you don't need...

Transfer box advice, 1.2 or 1.4??

Depends on gearbox and use as well. I had a 1.6 which was way too low. I use a 1.2 now. I have a military LT77 which has lower 1st and 2nd gears. I set off in 2nd all the time as 1st is too low. I would only use 1st on a steep hill. At town speeds, I often find myself at speeds which feel...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Replaced UJ's in front propshaft. Needle bearings in one cap were rusty. Seals were rock hard, so not sure if one had failed or the grease just wasn't getting through. Did oil service whilst the propshaft was off and enjoyed the experience of not having to work around the propshaft and having...

Replaced the diff and gearboxes fluids. All has plenty of fluid in and very clean, which is always nice.

    Front Grill Panel

What a total pain. I almost wish I'd never taken the panel off but it did make changing the timing belt much easier. Can't believe it's been more than 5 years since I last did it. With the engine on the floor that time. Getting this panel back on has by far been the hardest part! In the end...

    Front Grill Panel

How does the front grill panel attach to the wings on a one ten please? Mine has a supporting bar which is secured at the bottom on each side with an m8 to the chassis. I've not had any issues with this. Then it has 3 m8 bolts per side. 2 at the top and 1 at the bottom. It feels like they...

    Gearbox Crossmember

@border I found a liberal helping of grease on the mating surfaces along with a few wacks from the hammer helped position the crossmember. I did dent the round section, but it had already been damaged offroad in any case.

    Gearbox Crossmember

Hello @Oldseadog. Sadly, I've not made any beer for a very long time. I've been a bit busy at work. I need to get back into it though!

    Can't remember - it's my daily so I do get around :)

    Gearbox Crossmember

Ah, yours is different to mine. Mine is NTC9262, if you google that it's got a round section in the middle and the gaps are equidistant. Sorry I can't help.

    Gearbox Crossmember

Mine is fitted with the round section at the bottom. I don't remember it having any captive nuts, just long bolts with large washers IIRC.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Oil change and air filter done this weekend. I changed the fuel tank a few weeks ago, so I'll change the fuel filter once the tank is a bit more empty.

Oil, oil filter and diesel filter changed. Forgot to order an air filter. Not had time yet but slack in steering box needs adjustment as do rear brakes.

    110 Roof Removal and Refitting

The bulkhead vent seals are easy to do, so try that first. They glue on with contact cement. The water literally used to run through my dash until I replaced them and it's totally dry now.

    110 Roof Removal and Refitting

Cut as much sealant as possible with a Stanley knife. Sounds like you need new vent seals or windscreen seal.
