Hi I will do that when it does it again to check, but in the mean time will look at the earth drawings and go hunt them to make sure they are clean, starting in the engine bay. mcu short for micro controller :-) Out of interest is there any documentation about the idm in the fuse box Cheers :-)

Hi Thanks for the info. I will make sure earths are all good. It is strange as it is really is like a computer reboot, totally dead, then few mins later all comes back on. Does the passenger fuse box have an mcu in it out of interest? Thanks for confirming I'm in the right area. Many thanks Dan

Afternoon, Bit of a head scratch, which I may have found the cause, after much searching etc, not found anything specifically the same, so just after either, i'm in the right place to look / replace part or I'm way off! So 2004 D2 TD5 has a strange fault where it is completely dead sometimes...

Cb is legal in Europe, and most places in the world. you just have to make sure you use the correct frequencies. Simple in the EU, buy a CB in the UK that is 40/80 channel, switch it to UL in the UK, then when in Europe switch it to EU, or 80 Do you need a licence to use a CB radio in the UK...

I got a global power one, came from allmakes. Seems OK, nice voltage output, has a years warranty so all good :-)

Nice set up you have there, I always fancied an SDR system like that. Last HF rig I had was the TS590. I do have an HW-101 which needs a big overhaul before it will work again, but just don't have the time, hence a small mobile rig might be on the cards :-)

I used to have a big station in my 109, all sold now, not got anything in the disco except a cb. Might get a vhf/uhf rig mobile rig though Dan M1ETN

Changed dead alternator, almost broke hand undoing stupid hex head bolts for stupid EGR valve. Got it off with hammer, blow torch, plusgas, setting it on fire, more swearing... hole now blanked. Battery now charges without a horrid noise. Fitted oil pressure gauge. Found out the rubber plug...

Nice looking disco :-) It must be a Land Rover owner's thing. My 3 year old has acquired about 10 model Land Rovers now, loves when we go 'off roading' daddy and he has now taken up looking underneath my disco with me :-)
