Tried that i broke a pair of grips in process looks like it's been heavily over torqued so going to have it done in garage. First time i have give up I'm just going to change droplinks and drop it in to get gaiter changed and have mot done.

Does anybody know if missing gaiter from ace actuator will fail MOT been trying to get this off seems like it's been over torque and I can't remove it also been trying to get hold of the tool for removing it even talked to bosch tools who supply land rover and was told I needed trade account...

Does anybody know how toget the ace actuator off to change gaiter without being ripped off with the price of the removal tool LRT-60-009. Thanks for any advice given as I am stuck at the moment also if the gaiter is not on the actuator will it fail mot.

Just changed camshaft cover seal on the disco td5 for second time because of leak at bulkhead end of cover restarted engine and seen very small amount of oil coming from same place and realised the edge of cam cover looks slightly grazed just need to know if there is a sealant I could use with...

Does anybody know if the backing plate for a the handbrake on a land rover discovery td5 manual comes off with just the 4 bolts or do I need to remove all as one of the brake shoes locking pins has come out.

The mobile mechanic who came to diagnose the problem said that he regulary has wiring issues with the sensors probably due to the electrical connectors rotting away.

Yes there was alot of crap on the electrcal connector so gave them a good clean.

I definatly new the sensor were broken by the second hit.

I had to break the old sensors up abit when i removed them as the female thread on the chassis side of the sensor was broken the bolt was just spinning and the other side of the disco the sensor arm was stuck on the bolt on the radius arm so i did the engineers solution i hit them with a big hammer.

In that case i think i will leave them alone then. Thanks for the info. I just thought that they needed to rotate.

I did my sensors tight but i think they need abit of movement so when i get a chance i think that i will adjust them so they can move and see what happens.

Have you connected it direct to a battery as mine kept cutting out and it turned out tobe height sensor failure.
