    Whirring/humming noise - suspension?

Hi folks - some advice would be appreciated. I've got a 2004 Disco 2 that's making a whirring/humming noise from the rear wheel area. There's no warning lights and no leaks to the air suspension (that's apparent yet anyway). I had both air springs replaced last year when the main body of the car...

    Permieter alarms - recommendations

LR only make plastic ones and they just snap off if you apply enough force. Thanks anyway

    Permieter alarms - recommendations

What's everyone's thoughts on perimeter alarms? I've had 2 run ins with facelift light thieves and I need some deterrent. I'm a sitting duck because its parked on a main road under a street light, I can't park it up against a wall etc because I'll block other residents in. I've no garage and...

    Attempted lights theft (again!) s18

About an hour ago I chased off a bloke trying to pinch the headlights out of my Discovery td5. Unfortunately I didn't get his reg as he scuttled off but he was in a dark coloured Vauxhall astra/Vectra old style (pre millennium). He's bust the clip on the light but luckily everything's still...

Thanks Kato, I'm going to read through the manual tonight and see if I can fatham the new buttons and gizmos I've got instead of the diff lock. Snow due Friday so will have chance for a play woo hoo! It is lovely but still miss the rufty tufty old beast. Still - change is good otherwise we would...

Well I've picked up my new 2004 disco today and it's clean, no draughts or overwhelming smell of dog. It's pulls into traffic without time to celebrate a birthday before anything happens. There's no rust or waxoil to be seen and the leather seats are comfy. The turning circle is no longer an...

Thanks Paul D, don't think I'm that lucky but will have a closer look. Think I'm gonna go for the landmark I saw over the weekend but going to miss my old rot box. Shame I can't keep both. By the way, your local to me, any idea if they still do off roading at Hundall wood near Chesterfield?

Well that's not the warmest welcome I've seen but you stand your ground girl! 2 things to remember... do you love your car? YES Does it have the best badge in the world (landrover) instead of some foreign rice burner, YES. Nuff said.

It does have hill decent buttons, abs etc that I don't have in the 97 but why does the manuel still tell you that you can select diff lock?????

Thanks, The transfer case shifter just has 3 positions (H, L, and N) instead of 5 so wasn't sure if the diff lock had been removed or just faulty. Picture below shows the gear lever with only the H and L in the landmark and not the 'figure 8' one I have in my 97 disco. Very confusing for a...
