    Gearbox Jerky at Idle

I thought the headline read Jekyll & Hyde at first. Which I suppose it is. ;):)

Locked out of the front doors in my disco 2, help!

The latch at the actual lock. The movement from pulling the door handle is transferred into lateral movement. The plastic clip I'm referring to joins two rods and allows movement through an angle. Though it has to be said if both sides not working, the same mistake would have to have been made...

Locked out of the front doors in my disco 2, help!

It has been a while, but if memory serves me it is on the linkage by the latch. A small plastic piece which grips the rod, allowing the rod to slide. Hard to explain, but it basically transfers the movement, so as handle is pulled sideways the movement is forced upward. Mine was green, but some...

Locked out of the front doors in my disco 2, help!

This could suggest a missing or insecure cable clip. Little plastic bit which holds metal rod in place ? I know the Disco 2 rear pads can be removed with door closed, any chance you can climb over and remove front from inside ?

    NNW504660

Is this with engine running ? If yes check that alternator and wiring. If it is when you first connect battery, it sounds like you have something going to ground. With battery disconnected use a multi-meter to check for wires going to ground. Good luck

    Water leaking underneath Freelander 2

As Arctic suggests it is probably nothing to be concerned about, or you will have probably noticed. But saying that, you have what looks like a heat shield there so, possibly rubber or plastic pipes behind ? Clean the area shown and see if it spreads, check all your levels. Do the finger test...

    Central Locking

Similar issue with rear door on D2, it was the plastic clip that holds the actuator rod.

    Freelander 2 (LR2) Secure lockbox

I somewhat agree with Freddie, but, society the way it is these days, if the knives where to be stolen someone would be asking why they weren't secure ?

    Freelander 2 (LR2) Secure lockbox

Just beware of any wiring or pipe work behind panels before you start drilling.

Several of the major suppliers do these for Defender so worth asking them.

    Handrake ratchet not catching

Yep, hate those electric handbrakes. I said that to the salesman when we test drove the wife's Zafira. He said, after a while you will never want to go back to manual handbrake. Well, I hate them even more now ! Especially since Mrs borrowed daughters Citroen and drove home with the handbrake...

Freelander 2 (LR2) Gear Gaiter renewal

Removing the gear lever is a case of just pulling it up and off ! But, if it was only that easy. The gator should pull down away from the knob. Then the lower part of the gear knob has two plastic prongs which grip a recess on the stick. It does pull up, but needs a firm grip and very sharp pull...

    Discovery Sport Boot / tailgate

Start as above, check boot trim all around for security and nothing is obstructing the tailgate. If any parts have been changed, start there. One point I came across recently was that the green connector had been connected the wrong way around !
