The good news is that new plugs and a decent set of leads has cured the misfire. Thanks for all your ideas and input guys.

Misfire on V8 Gems with lpg

Thank you for the comments so far. The misfire is there on petrol and LPG and at tick over she seems ok but once you rev it or pull off she struggles under load. I am going to start with the plugs, give her a service, then new leads if that doesnt cure it. Then change the coil pack. My next...

MAF? Mass airflow meter. can that be cleaned to see if it is the culprit or is it replacement only?

Misfire on V8 Gems with lpg

also what are peoples opinions on Irontite and Holts wonderweld for head gasket leaks. I used irontite before on the old engine and it held the block for about 5000 miles through that very cold winter last year. I need to keep her going a few more days til i break for Xmas.

Misfire on V8 Gems with lpg

Over the past week my 96 RR has been dripping a small amount of water from the near side of the rad. nothing major and only needed a small top up now and again. Yesterday the engine developed a heavy misfire (similar to an HT lead or two being removed) and I could hear popping through the...

    Flat spot.

I have a 1996 4.0 running on LPG. Question, Is there a way of remapping the engine to improve power and remove the horrendous flat spot at 2000 rpm whether on petrol or gas without knackering the transmission. I was gonna upgrade the Plugs at the next service (suggestions for make and model...

    2000 P38 Autobiography - Wooly steering???

I think thats how they are! I found mine a bit strange to adjust to after a normal car. Just cruised the MOT and no issues with the steering. I will bow to the greater knowledge though. Enjoy your RR

Change of Plan !!! LPG ???? Any Ideas

I have LPG on my 4.0. It cost me the same to run each month as my old Rover 45 1.8. LPG is not as readily available but of you find a few local suppliers then you can work trips to include a stop off. I run mine on petrol for about 40 miles a week to keep everything sweet. as for LPG...

Did you order a replacement lock from LR to match the Chassis number or source one from a scrapper with the key to match the lock? As I understand it the EKA code is entered thus: key into drivers door and lock the car. if the code is 5234 then turn the key 5 times to the right, then twice to...

Learning to drive in a P38

I like this thread :) my daughter is 6 and is already on my lap steering my Rangy when we go over the fields at my mates farm. give it another 12 months and she will be almost tall enough to do the pedals too so she will be proficient with it quite soon. and in low range she will hardly be able...

    Bugger!

I had the heads done on my old 4.0 LPG engine last year, but it still kept pressurising afterwards. I used Irontite and it cured the problem for a few months but ended up using 16 litres of water to cover the 30 mile trip to work and the same on the way home. I swear she was steam driven for a...
