Quick update on this. Had the injectors tested an no3 didn’t give a reading. They ran leak back test after and no3 is knackered and no1 not much better. Hopefully replacing them will solve the cold starting issue. Would you suggest replacing all 4 at once or just the two? Conscious the injectors...

Had the issue last few days when the temperature was above 5c so the glow plugs wouldn’t even be on. Will get a leak off kit and test the injectors

Ahh I see. Was hoping to avoid a full new set of injectors. Hoping it could have been seals or o-rings. Would this only really happen with freezing temperatures?

Is that the same as fuel running back to the tank? Heard stories of that in these cars. Sometimes there is a bit of smoke, but can’t say it’s anything excessive

looked again this afternoon after the car had sat for almost two days. Started well but could see four of five air bubbles flow through the clear fuel line so definitely leaking somewhere

No air bubbles in the fuel line when I checked this morning. Felt around all the joints and the fuel line and couldn’t feel or see any diesel anywhere either. Hhmmmm….

Brilliant I will try this, thank you. Guessing I can fit a non return valve on the fuel line if this is the case? Would also explain why it struggles even more when cold outside if the fuel is having to travel further through the system

Not sure what one is on there to be honest. It was replaced last year as part of a full service but the car had this issue prior to the filter being changed and the one before the current was a Bosch from memory. Any way to check bleed back?
