Disco 1 Fuel Tank Strap - Is it structural??

So the saga continues...... Found a replacement cradle which is brilliant but, went to take the remaining bolts off and although I had soaked in penetrating fluid when I came to turn the boltI have sheared the bracket off. After some thought the best option I can think of it to make a revised...

Disco 1 Fuel Tank Strap - Is it structural??

No its the one underneath and looks like the picture. I wasn't sure whether it held the tank up or gave it protection. Trouble is can't find a new one!

Disco 1 Fuel Tank Strap - Is it structural??

After several months of trouble free motoring I was on the way home yesterday and heard a clanging from under the Disco. After getting under I could see that one side of the fuel tank strap had rusted through and was hanging loose. I have removed the old strap and will order a new one but my...

For those who have the same issue..... HGF caused hot pressure in crank case which fried cyclone! New head gasket and new cyclone problem solved! Turbo did kick a lot of oil through but fine after a can of turbo cleaner! Weirdly though, the nut just before the oil filter worked lose (actual...

Blue / White smoke using oil and crank case pressure!

Back together and still the same problem. With the cyclone to intake pipe still off there is no noticeable pressure coming from the pipe but the oil cap still pressurises. Is the Cyclone at fault?

Blue / White smoke using oil and crank case pressure!

Hi and thanks for your reply. With hindsight I realised the only way to find the problem is to take the head off. Engine stripped and headbolts out but the head stuck tight! Signs if rust on some of the bolts so suspect HGF. Job for tomorrow now, will report back when I know more. Cheers

Air in the fuel possible source?

I have been having a bit of trouble with air in the fuel and have found something quite strange. I have replaced the leak of pipes , lift pump, checked injectors, sedimenter and so forth. I decided to have a look at the injection pump and once opened there was diesel on the dry side, top of...

    Light bar feed?

I wired mine into the live for the main beam, its only a relay feed so doesn't take much current. Just follow the wire back from the headlight and splice in! :)

Do you need to charge a battery before it can be tested??

Would they not need to test the battery first though to see that? The thing that annoys me though is they didn't say this process needed to be followed when the old battery was tested! They just put the tester on and said yeah you need a new one!

Do you need to charge a battery before it can be tested??

Bought a battery last year and with the cold weather over the last week thecar has been reluctant to start and the radio needs the code. Checked the alt, earths etc and all good. Took it back to the shop to be tested (3 Year Warranty) and he said he wont test it until it has been on a...

    Biodiesel Newbie quick question!

Okay, I know a lot of info on this but need a simple answer first... Someone quite local selling rape oil for 60p/l which is less than half the price of regular diesel. Having read threads on here saying use neat veg oil I wondered whether I could stick it straight in and save a fortune! So I...
