    Got a good 2nd hand rear diff and had it fitted. It made no difference at all. Rumbling still there. Upon further inspection it now looks like the culprits are the prop shaft mounts. There is a lot of play. Could this result in the prop shaft rubbing and causing this noise? Have ordered...

    Hi All Am selling my 2004 Landrover Freelander 1.8 Petrol but require a new rear diff. The current one is shot and rumbles like thunder when turning corners. Any ideas on best place to get replacement, new or second hand Cheers

    :D Took an angle grinder to it and jaysus its hard work. Will get it up on a ramp in work and have a proper go tomorrow. Failing that, cable ties it is. Cheers for all the advice lads

    Yeah it was pressed back on and tapped with a hammer (by Auto Rescue) and it came off again on first corner. Will try hacksawing it off and see how it goes while getting a replacement thanks
