Thanks for your reply. Had haldex serviced and rear dif replaced about 50,000 miles 4\5 years ago by well known specialist in Worcestershire due to failing bearing. The noise is definitely from the front of car and not the drone noise previously heard from the rear dif.

Looking for two part clip TRW 57 to attach sill cover to my 2010 freelander sd, have been offered DYC500030 but it is only one part so not so easy to fit and probably one time use only Does anyone know of a supplier of small quantities of these clips or an alternative two part clip.

Had this problem on a td5 when BCU was failing, replaced BCU eventually when other problems associated with it occurred namely remote locking and dreaded flashing m&s lights. Unfortunately BCU faults are not stored so can't be diagnosed by nanocom etc.

Just changed mine after 4 years and 50000 miles of road driving for same as before goodyear wrangler m+s 235/65R17 from national tyres £418 for 4 tyres fitted.

Just an update and belated thanks to those who gave advice, many thanks. Replaced battery on Saturday with a F18 Varta from Tanya, ordered Friday delivered next day and fitted. Took about 10 minutes to change and cinc Windows as per handbook just need to get rid of old battery now.

It is a long time since I had this problem but from memory the aircon unit mounted centrally above the transmission tunnel under the front dash collects condensed water in an open drip tray with a drain in each end. The drains pass either side of the transmission tunnel within the car right up...

If you have aircon and use it check that the drains are clear as the water it condenses leaks into the footwell either side if they become blocked.
