    A Dead Land Rover 2a

strongly recommend you time it with a strobe lamp, easy to be miles out with static timing. Also if it's old & worn (like me) the strobe will show this up at low revs under no load. If worn, swallow hard, bin it & get a new one, you will be pleased with the result!

    insurence????

Had my first LR at 55, hate to think what kind of woman would want to jump on me in my 2a. Arrrghh! Back on topic, a pal has a trader's policy naming himself & sons as partners, they can drive pretty much anything and the cost works out quite reasonably split four ways. Just a thought.

replacing rear chassis on Series IIa

A couple of months ago we had some fun extracting a lorry from a muddy slope, and in the excitement my pal managed to rip the towbar out of the rather ripe rear crossmember. Now I have decided to fix it by replacing the rear 1/4 chassis. Can anyone offer guidance on this? A little help can save...

ISTR that one of the parts dealers is selling petrol tanks ever so cheap, sounds as if it could change your luck...

Allowing for monetary inflation, insurance price inflation, your driving offences over the next two years, your disabilities, and the fact that your vehicle is heavily modified, £5,000.13.
