Okay..........thanks to you all. This noise was indeed the fans kicking in big time since I had little coolant in the chamber. Did a 60% coolant to 40% water. Noise gone. So if anyone needs to know then there it is. Thanks again.

The air con was off. It does sound like a jet engine and it's really loud. The only thing I can think of is that I topped up the coolant with pure water the other day and didn't use a mixture of coolant but it was only about a pint. Could this be the fault do you think? I have read all the...
