Check the loom as it enters through the floor in the rear left corner by the boot door. It sits directly over the exhaust and I suffered a similar problem with the fuel pump feed wire touching the exhaust and shorting out

Are you talking about the very front body mounts by the rad or the ones at the bottom of the bulkhead? If the front rad ones then I drilled through the spot welds on the light box and undid the body mount bolts to remove the whole thing then replaced the light box complete with new mounts...

Thanks for the kind words guys. The rebuild is on hold (up on 4 axle stands) at the moment as I had a hip replacement earlier this year and wasn't able to do anything will recovering. Now that I'm recovered its too dark and wet to do anything so will restart in the New Year

Removing just the corner panel with the side panel still on is a pain as it attaches to the side panel inside and you risk damage to one or both panels Take the whole thing off following my previous link, do whatever you need to do to the corner bit and refit as one piece

If you have a look at THIS post it contains the RAVE manual pages that deal with removing the 1/4 panel. Make sure you find ALL the bolts before trying to pull the panel off though:)

As Mark rightly says bin the plastic rot promoters if you do any off road driving. All they do is hold all the mud and crud against you nice new wing to help speed up the rot! Once the whole of the rebuild is done I intend to shultz or waxoil the complete underside. No point doing it before as...
