I am Thinking of buying a 90. Within my price range are both tdi and td5 engined vehicles what are the pros and cons of each type of engines
Am I better off buying a better conditoned tdi or worse td5.

be aware that all freelander alloys do not fit all freelanders.check the model compatability. with the year of build of your freebie.A good place to stat is the accessory cataloque rom the main dealer.

Sorry to throw the fuel pump into the equation.I just thought I'd mention it as my freelander was showing the same symptoms as yours.If you can hear your pump when you start the ignition(tank end )Its proberbly ok

I recently had my tank fuel pump fail with near catastrophic results! since it has been replaced I have had no wobbly tickover(engine sounded like a sack of bolts.)Worth a look?

I Thought I'd better post this warning.On Tuesday I was Quite happilly driving at 70mph when The engine failed without any warning whatsover.
The cause of this was the failure of the fuel tank pump. I did not experiance any of the usuall simptoms of running out of fuel i.e.engine juddering...

I have had the same problem.A friend in the rac said it may be a temperature sensor causing an upset to the injector feed.Thankfully this problem was intermittant and hasent occured latly
