Do I need any special tools for the fan removal as Rave shows that I do? And Do I have to take the fan or rad out to get to the thermostat?

it's not been messed with for power, it passed MOT last year when I had it with no problems or advisories. I did have a coolant leak and wonder whether now I haven't bled all the air out? Could this be a cause?

If there is an air lock in the coolant would that be a possible cause? Or maybe the thermostat? How wuold I tweak the fuel pump? Do you think that it may be overfueling?

failed MOT today on emissions/opacity. The pass rate being 3.0 it scored 3.22. Injectors cleaned and took it for a blast, not much came out the back, it runs smooth but have noticed that the temp gague hardly even gets up to 1/4 of the way up. All filters changed recently and oil. Anyone got...

Maybe not. Took out the starter and gave it a good clean out put back together (after doing fpr) and nothing, it still just clicks! the contacts looked worn but I only replaced them last year but think this may be the cause again and may be just coincidence with the fpr leaking? so the car is...

The batterty is fine and I replaced the solenoid in the starter last year. I think it is where the fpr is over the starter (TD5) and has been leaking onto it, it has got worse over the last week to the point now where it just clicks when you turn the ignition

So I've had a leaky fpr for a while and now about to replace it, tried the O ring kit and that didn't work. Problem I have now is starter won't start! Will this just be a case of dropping it out and a bit of a clean up with contact cleaener is is it fcuked?

So it should be OK to use then with just the one bolt for the moment while I have a look round for one being broken to get a new is it a drain or housing?

Done it as well! What is the part I need to replace then? Is it the centrifuge housing or return and does anyone know where to get one and how much I should be paying? Also, what sort of pressure is it under with only one bolt holding it? Sorry, mines a td5 discovery so I don't know if that...

Was doing a service today and all was fine and dandy until I went to put the cap back on the oil filter (td5) and tried to do up the bolt closest to me, it just kept spinning, took the cap back off and there was the thread attached to the bolt where it should screw into (hope that makes sense)...

Sorted, plenty of wd, a few taps and a bit of luck :-)

I couldn't get a socket on there as it was to close to the pipe so using open ended spanner, maybe this is where I'm going wrong? Have ordered a couple of new nipples as I'm sure to round them both off!! will try giving it a tap on the end first as already tried shocking the spanner

Trying to bleed the brakes on a TD4. Front no probs but got the rear l/h and it won't budge. Took the wheel off to get better access but it's starting to round off so soaked in wd40 and left it for the moment. Sure I saw a thread on this a while ago but can't find it. Anyone got any advise...
