Is it better to buy a second hand OR new-dubious-sh!te-chicom-quality clockspring? My horn button has stopped working. They both cost more or less the same price.

The FL uses a EDC15C4, it can be fiddled with using the absurdly cheap MPPS clones.

It is actually really hard for a new FL1 owner to figure out what diagnostics systems will work with the FL1. Information is scattered across the net and nobody seems to give a clear answer.
By far the cheapest option is a a knockoff delphi ds150 interface from China with dodgy software...

Recently I inherited a non(ish) running 2006 TD4 Freelander(FL). The previous owners had skimped on maintenance and destroyed the turbo by neglecting to change the sludge they thought was oil. It should be noted this FL was a runner just prior to the turbo dying. I have a spare TD4 engine...

I have just traded in my 1995 Xantia for a 2006 freelander. I will miss the old girl but she really was a rolling skip. They don't make them like the XUD9 TD anymore.
Just replaced the turbo on my new (to me) FL but now the bastard thing won't start. All...
