Carry on from 'Project Big Blue'

Loving this Disco its exactly how I want mine to look, what size are the wheels/tyres your running? Are they the 16x7 wheels?

    Rich1989s Project and 2nd Discovery

Been ages since I have updated this, and tbh I haven't done much. The Disco has been sat for a few months as I've been pretty busy with our 6 week old and the chassis is about a 30min drive from my house. Its now stripped completely and ready to have a small amount of repair work done, I have...

    shockers

Yes you can fit longer dampers, but you will need extended bump stops and possibly relocated mounts depending on how much you want them to be extended. Obviously as stated you will also need extended brake line. You should be able to fit 2 inch extended dampers with no issue

The OP hasnt been active since 2012 so I doubt he will answer your question :D

The joys of discovering your Discovery!

If all that was wrong with my Disco was the horn not working and a whining gearbox id be pretty damn happy!

Disco 300tdi - rebuild and repair

Pretty sure all Landrover owners have more money than sense really. I bought my rusty Disco for £600, and plan on spending £6-8k on rebuilding it over a few years only for it to be worth £3-4k when its finished :p If you want to be sensible don't buy a Landy ;)

    Discovery Pick up and VOSA?

Thanks that's pretty much what I was hoping for

    Discovery Pick up and VOSA?

Yeah I emailed Longranger when I first thought about it but never had a reply, hopefully they will be at the show this weekend.

Improving 300tdi mpg (the obvious and less obvious stuff!)

Power to weight is very often overlooked as well as aerodynamics. If you don't need all 7 seats get rid of the other 5, got a snorkel or loads of extra lights that are like a parachute at speed? Heavy duty bumpers are not necessary if its a road vehicle. Tyres make a massive difference to mpg...

    Discovery Pick up and VOSA?

Im looking at making a discovery pick up out of my rusty 3 door. Using the Longranger cab conversion. Mainly for something different and to put my bikes in the back. If I didn't modify the chassis at all would I get away with not having to go through VOSA and all the other rubbish that bobtails...

    Can we still decat?

All I will say is, the guy testing it is unlikely to know if your car came with a cat or not. (mainly older cars and landrovers) Or that the box you have in the exhaust is infact a straight through pipe made to look like a cat......

    Spring advice please

I had the Cooper STT in that size on mine, were great all round tyres

    Spring advice please

I used the Terrafirma light duty springs on my Disco, might have to go up to medium duty because of the extra weight though. If you planning on using it on the road more I would sack off the Insa Turbo tyres and get something more 'all terrain' I would steer clear of anything Britpart make...
