well it did cross my mind to join em together, but i did read on forum what the little filter is for, the forum is far easier to find things than searching the haynes manual.

hello does anyone know what metal pipe at the back of the td4 engine is for and does it connect to anything. its about 6mm in size looks like it goes down to turbo area , its made of steel and is bent in a u bend at top, thanks for any info cheers andy
