P38 Diesel OEM brand of radiator fan

It seems that the OEM brand is Borg Warner. A Land Rover original fan has a "bwcs" marking on the blades and here, someone posted "If there bwcs is a borg warner".

P38 Diesel OEM brand of radiator fan

I'm afraid of ending up with the same problem I have now. Mine cools fine. But the noise is what annoys me. It was replaced new, about five years ago. It seem like it is always on. The viscous coupling is always making too much "drag" even in cold. As far as I know it should be: 1 a bit of drag...

diesel, sometimes, wont start (when cold)

Well, I tried this before as I fine tuned the present FIP and it wasn't that hard at all. Maybe I was lucky and it will never be that easy for me again... :o Once again, thank you for the tips.

diesel, sometimes, wont start (when cold)

Thanks wammers. I have another FIP. I hope it is better. I think it is. Another thing. What is the best practice on FIP timing. Can the FIP timing be adjusted dynamically, using "Timing modulation" between 45% 55%? Should I do static timing only? In this case. if timing modulation if off...

Still no firing problems until today. Now I get repeatedly the following error. Note that I clear ECU error upon start and this were record with engine running. -------------------------------------------------------------- NANOCOM - EDC.APP - EDC faults file FUEL FLOW VALUE OUT OF RANGE...

diesel, sometimes, wont start (when cold)

Hi all, I think I figured out what the problem was. Given the repeated error on the crank sensor, I measured the signal with a portable osciloscope at the ECU input. I noticed, that at cranking time, the signal was weak and sometimes non existent. So I took the sensor off, wipe the tip...

diesel, sometimes, wont start (when cold)

I guess the only way will be to build a table and cross the live data temp with the fault reading temp.

diesel, sometimes, wont start (when cold)

I will monitor power at glow plugs, but I must say that I have the same problem when hot also. Yesterday, everytime I started the engine it was a pain and 2 of them were when hot. Why do you say my temperature readings are high? I've been monitoring water temp using nanocom live data and it...

They do not sell 20quid toasters. :frusty: Common sense... common sense is not very common is it? My common sense is built by my own ambient, experience, and academic knowledge. It is normal that my own judgment differs from a plumber or a NASA engineer. Common sense is not very common is...
